Hotel Conversion into Studio Apartments

Key Count: 88

This former Quality Inn was converted into 88 studio apartments for individuals who have experienced chronic homelessness.

The standard guestrooms were renovated with all-new finishes, including LVT flooring and millwork wall dividers. In addition, each apartment unit is equipped with an added kitchen and fully furnished with new FF&E.

The first floor consists of a community kitchen and dining area, a nurse’s clinic, a chapel, resident laundry, and a smoker’s pavilion.

A 6,542 sq. ft. addition was added to the property, which houses 1,200 sq. ft. of meeting space, Duke Energy Computer Learning Lab, resident mailboxes, a new elevator, administrative offices, an employee breakroom, and two restrooms.

Roof Above is a comprehensive homeless service provider serving 1,300 people per day through a spectrum of services ranging from street outreach, day services, emergency shelter, and permanent supportive housing.

Permanent supportive housing provides affordable housing paired with supportive services to ensure people experiencing chronic homelessness obtain and retain housing and have the opportunity to work towards their own life goals.
